From Child Soldier to Child Champion

Gatkuoth Liah Diu was a former child soldier. As a child of about ten years old, he lived in Block 5A in southern Sudan when the region's oil fields were being established. He was notably featured in historical television footage—which was submitted as evidence in the Swedish court—seen as a young boy guarding the oil facilities and accompanying armed actors.

Today, ACSS exists so that no child has to experience what he did. Every program we run, every safe space we create, every child we reunite with their family — it all comes from a place of lived understanding. We don't just help children survive. We help them thrive.

"I was that abandoned child. That is why I will never stop fighting for the ones who still are."
