Five Programs.
One Holistic Mission.
Our integrated approach means every child receives protection, education, healing, nutrition, and a path home — not one or two, but all five.
Child Protection
Every child has the right to live free from violence, exploitation, and abuse. Our child protection program is the frontline response to that right.
In South Sudan's conflict zones, children face separation from families, abduction by armed groups, gender-based violence, and statelessness. Our child protection teams work 24/7 to identify, rescue, and provide immediate care to children at risk.
Safe Houses & Emergency Shelters
Secure, staffed emergency shelters providing immediate refuge for children in crisis, operating across 0 locations in South Sudan.
Legal Aid & Documentation
Birth registration, legal identity documentation, and advocacy for children's rights within South Sudan's legal system.
Emergency Response Teams
Rapid response units deployed within 0 hours of a reported child protection incident, including mobile case management teams.
Case Management
Individual case plans for every child, with dedicated social workers ensuring continuity of care from crisis to recovery.
Education
South Sudan has the world's highest proportion of out-of-school children. We are working to change that — one classroom at a time.
Conflict, displacement, poverty, and gender discrimination have robbed millions of South Sudanese children of their right to learn. Our education program meets children where they are, providing accelerated, flexible, and quality learning opportunities regardless of prior schooling.
Accelerated Learning Centers (ALCs)
0 ALCs providing condensed, quality curricula that allow older children who missed years of schooling to catch up rapidly.
Teacher Training & Support
Ongoing professional development for 0+ local teachers, including trauma-informed pedagogy and inclusive education methods.
School Supplies & Materials
Complete school kits distributed to every enrolled child — books, uniforms, stationery, and hygiene items.
Girls' Education Initiative
Targeted support for girls, including community sensitization, female mentors, and safety measures to keep girls in school.
Mental Health & Psychosocial Support
Conflict leaves invisible wounds. Our mental health program is designed to heal what cannot be seen — trauma, grief, and shattered identity.
Many of the children we work with have witnessed violence, lost family members, and endured trauma that would overwhelm most adults. Without proper mental health support, these experiences become lifelong barriers. With it, they become part of a story of survival and strength.
Individual Therapy
One-on-one sessions with trained psychosocial counselors using trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic methods.
Group Support Circles
Facilitated peer groups that reduce isolation, build social bonds, and process shared experiences in a safe environment.
Art & Play Therapy
Non-verbal expressive therapies that allow children — especially those too young or traumatized to speak — to process and heal.
Caregiver Training
Training parents and community caregivers to support children's mental health at home and recognize signs of distress.
Nutrition & Food Security
A hungry child cannot learn. A malnourished child cannot heal. Our nutrition program ensures children have the strength to grow, learn, and thrive.
South Sudan faces one of the world's most severe food crises. Acute malnutrition rates among children under five are alarmingly high. Our nutrition program combines emergency food assistance with long-term food security interventions to break the cycle of hunger.
School Feeding Programs
Nutritious daily meals at all our Accelerated Learning Centers, improving concentration, attendance, and learning outcomes.
Malnutrition Screening & Treatment
Regular screening for acute malnutrition, with therapeutic feeding for severe cases and supplementary feeding for moderate cases.
Agricultural Support
Seeds, tools, and training for families to grow their own food — building resilience and reducing dependency on food aid.
Nutrition Education
Community workshops on nutrition, meal planning, and optimal infant and young child feeding practices for caregivers.
Family Reintegration
A safe house is a bridge, not a destination. Our reintegration program ensures every child has somewhere permanent to call home.
Family separation is one of the most devastating consequences of armed conflict. Our reintegration program uses a careful, child-centered process to trace, verify, and reunite families — and provides ongoing support to ensure the reunification lasts.
Family Tracing
Cross-border family tracing using community networks, digital databases, and coordination with IOM and ICRC to locate separated families.
Community Mediation
Facilitated dialogue with communities, especially for children who were associated with armed groups, ensuring safe return.
Vocational Training
Skills training for youth who missed education — tailoring, carpentry, agriculture, and digital literacy — enabling economic independence.
12-Month Follow-Up
Regular home visits and check-ins for a full year after reunification, ensuring the integration is stable and sustainable.
Our Five-Step Approach
Every child we serve goes through a structured, trauma-informed journey from crisis to stability.
Identify & Rescue
Rapid identification of at-risk children through community networks, referral systems, and emergency hotlines — with a 0-hour response target.
Assess & Stabilize
Comprehensive assessment of each child's physical health, mental health, legal status, and family situation to build an individual care plan.
Heal & Educate
Integrated delivery of mental health support, education, and life skills — rebuilding confidence, identity, and capability over time.
Nourish & Strengthen
Nutritional support and food security interventions to ensure children have the physical foundation to learn, heal, and grow.
Reintegrate & Follow Up
Family reunification or alternative care placement, followed by a minimum 0-month follow-up period to ensure lasting stability.
